Kevin O'Sullivan: Trail Blazer

Kevin O'Sullivan, President & CEO, Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives, Worcester. Age: 62, Hometown: Worcester, Years working in Central mass.: 30.

O'Sullivan has been promoting biotechnology in Central Massachusetts for years and has helped it grow into what it is today. At MBI, he oversees an incubator network with four locations and 25 companies who work on everything from diagnostics to drug development to medical devices. He's been at MBI since 1998.

This year, MBI helped persuade LakePharma Inc. of Belmont, Calif. think about expanding its Worcester presence by becoming the first tenant of a proposed 500,000-square-foot biomanufacturing site.
