Whole Foods moving HQ to Marlborough

Courtesy Whole Foods plans to move its regional corporate headquarters to Marlborough.

National grocery chain Whole Foods Market will relocate its North Atlantic regional headquarters to Marlborough this spring, according to the city’s economic development corp.

The grocery chain’s executive offices will move from Cambridge to Forest Street in Marlborough, in the vacant space between Fortune 500 companies GE Healthcare and Quest Diagnostics, said Meredith Harris, executive director of the Marlborough Economic Development Corp.

Whole Foods will bring about 200 jobs to the city and occupy about 50,000 square feet of commercial space, said Harris. The move is expected to take place this spring.

"Whole Foods Market’s North Atlantic regional headquarters is pleased to be joining the Marlborough community as we move to our new office this spring," said Whole Foods spokeswoman Heather McCready.

The chain operates 467 stores throughout North America and Great Britain.
