Worcester restaurant app bought by NYC firm

WBJ File The Slydde mobile app enables users to buy food and drink from their favorite local restaurants.

Worcester technology startup Slydde, LLC., which developed a mobile application for customers to buy food and drink from local restaurants, has been purchased by a New York City drink subscription firm.

NYC-based Hooch, Inc. completed the purchase of Slydde in mid-December, retaining Worcester Co-founder and CEO Peter Levin as a strategic consultant, along with one of his co-founders, Ian Kennedy.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Hooch did not return immediately requests for comment on Monday morning.

With Slydde now sold and his role with the app moving more towards consulting, Levin has moved on to become the chief technology officer of New York City-based Muse Paintbar, which specializes in offering drink and tasting events while the participants paint works of art.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story incorrectly said four Slydde co-founders would work as strategic consultants for Hooch, when only two co-founders will serve in this capacity.
