Hopkinton solar installer Solect Energy has partnered with a Medford-based specialty food distributor to install a 446-kilowatt solar array on the roof of the distributor's 75,000-square-foot warehouse and office facility.

The solar array is expected to cover part of the company’s annual energy costs, though exact savings were not disclosed.

The distributor, Accardi Foods, has complete ownership of the array, which has a 20-year lifespan. Accardi will utilize the state’s Solar Investment Tax Credit in addition to the current solar renewable energy credit (SREC) program.
