Mass. Life Sciences Center offers new startup money

Courtesy of MLSC The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center has launched a new program that will provide grants to early-stage life sciences companies.

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) on Tuesday announced a new program that will provide grant funding to early-stage life sciences companies.

The Massachusetts Ramp-Up Program will provide supplemental grant funding, on a competitive basis, to companies that have been awarded Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I grants or contracts from federal agencies, according to a statement from MLSC.

MassRamp “aims to bridge the funding gaps associated with the long life sciences R&D cycle, and the high cost of translating research into commercially viable products,” MLSC said.

Up to $3 million is available in the inaugural round of the program, with individual awards of up to $300,000 available.

The application deadline is March 28.
