Desiree Awiszio, a self-employed Worcester engineering consultant, won the K-12 STEM Literacy Education-Engineer Partnership Award in 2016 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for her work with students and teachers in the science, technology, engineering and math curriculum. As part of the award, she named Principal Olga Serebrennikov from MathAltitude School of Mathematics in Worcester as the recipient of an IEEE grant. Country Bank

Country Bank team members were presented with an award from community-development corporation Worcester Common Ground, in appreciation for a donation of $2,000 in 2016, as well as the many hours of volunteer time from staffers. Wegmans Food Markets, which has a store in Northborough, was ranked No. 2 for corporate reputation among the 100 most visible companies, according to the 2017 Harris Poll Reputation Quotient study. Including Wegmans, 17 U.S. companies earned excellent scores, on attributes including financial performance and workplace environment.
