Highest paid state employees all work for UMass

Six of the state's top 10 highest-paid earners work for UMass Medical School in Worcester.

Ranked by their total earnings in 2016, the top 20 highest paid Massachusetts state employees are all affiliated with the University of Massachusetts, according to research from Worcester Business Journal.

Of the top 10, nine are men and six work for UMass Medical School in Worcester. Here are the top 10 in Massachusetts according to their 2016 earnings.
