Construction has begun on a 43,000-square-foot office space in Sturbridge at the junction of I-84, Route 20, and the Massachusetts Turnpike, according to the project’s architect.

The three-story building at 198 Charlton Road is on property owned by Arland Tool & Manufacturing, Inc., a West Brookfield contract manufacturer. It will have modern masonry, glass elements, and showcase a multi-story lobby that allows for natural light, according to Maugel Architects, Inc., of Harvard, which is designing the building.

RP Masiello of Boylston is the project’s contractor.

Once it’s completed, Arland will lease the space out to tenants, according to Maugel.
