UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester announced on Wednesday the opening of a new Health AI Assurance Laboratory, in partnership with Bedford non-for-profit research-and-development center MITRE. As artificial intelligence becomes more widely used in health care, the center is designed to provide validation for the use of the technology, to address concerns including technical robustness and safety, transparency, diversity and fairness, as well as societal and environmental well-being.
