HomeGoods and T.J. Maxx are switching plazas in Milford, leaving the Quarry Square Shopping Center in favor of the new Milford Crossing just over a mile away.

RD Management, which owns the Milford Crossing plaza, announced Tuesday that the two stores, totaling about 47,000 square feet, will open this fall.

The two retailers, which are owned by TJX, will join Stop & Shop, Starbucks and Chipotle Mexican Grill. Stop & Shop is slated to open in November, and the other two in the first quarter of next year.

Stop & Shop is also moving from Quarry Square Shopping Center.

Milford Crossing is being remade in a $20 million project after Kmart, Bugaboo Creek and World Gym all left in a short period of time starting in 2014. Only two stores, a Dollar Tree and Salon Centric, remained, and both will be a part of the reborn shopping center.

New York-based RD Management gutted and started from scratch on the old Kmart building, where Stop & Shop, HomeGoods and T.J. Maxx will go. The building housing Dollar Tree and Salon Centric is being renovated and expanded, and new 20,000- and 6,000-square-foot buildings are being built. The plaza totals about 15 retail spaces in 158,000 square feet.
