40 Under Forty: Jay Merrill

Erika Sidor At the Grid District in Worcester are 40 Under Forty winners John T. Pitcavage, Michelle L. Cote, Esq., Jay Merrill and Brendan Aylward.

When Merrill received his certified investment management analyst designation from Wharton in 2012, he was one of the youngest holders of the title in the nation. He has used this knowledge and five years spent with institutional clients at Fidelity Investments to help Clifford achieve substantial business growth, focusing on individual clients and small business owners.

Merrill volunteers for Junior Achievement in Worcester and teaches personal finance at high schools. He is president of networking group BNI Profit Rockets. He lives with his wife, Kat, and twin boys, Jack and Mason.

If you spoke at a college graduation, what would the message be? Listen. We are too eager to share our own ideas without hearing others.

What one Central Mass. location should everyone visit? Stone Cow Brewery in Barre has something for all ages, especially young families.

What did you want to be when you grew up? A New England Patriots player. Now 30, I feel the same way.
