Becker College appoints new dean

Becker College has hired a new deal for its nursing, education, criminal justice, psychology, exercise science and mental health counseling programs.
The new dean, Laurie Hillson, was announced Thursday, with her appointment effective immediately at the college, which has campuses in Worcester and Leicester.
Hillson was most recently at Endicott College in Beverly, where she served as assistant dean for graduate nursing and a registered nurse to bachelor of science in nursing program. She was also the director of the master's nursing programs.
The North Shore native has spent time at several other Massachusetts schools. She was the director of nursing education programs at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill and the coordinator of continuing studies at Regis College's nursing program at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.
Hillson has a doctorate from Simmons College in Boston, a master's degree in nursing and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Salem State University and an associate degree in registered nursing from Northern Essex Community College.
