Sturbridge human services nonprofit Venture Community Services has opened a location in Uxbridge, the agency’s first facility in the Blackstone Valley.

The program will operate at 670 Douglas St. in Uxbridge and primarily service young adults with developmental disabilities.

The location opened last week, but the organization has been providing services in Uxbridge and the area since earlier this year, said President and CEO Mike Hyland.

According to the Worcester County Registry of Deeds, the company purchased the 18,000-square-foot building on 3.4 acres for $970,000 in February 2016.

The company is also in the process of developing autism services for children and families.
