Fletcher Tilton acquires Providence, New Bedford firm

Fred Misilo, director, officer and chair of trust and estates department, Fletcher Tilton, PC.

Law firm Fletcher Tilton has announced that a law firm based in Providence and New Bedford will become part of the Worcester law firm.

Lahti, Lahti & O’Neill are joining the Fletcher Tilton team, the firm announced Thursday. The move adds capacity to the firm’s trust and estate department, Fletcher Tilton said in a press release.

Lahti, Lahti and O’Neill’s offices in Providence and New Bedford will officially become two additional Fletcher Tilton offices.

Attorney MIchael T. Lahti, one of five certified elder law attorneys in Rhode Island and one of 24 such attorneys in Massachusetts, joins the Worcester firm with his lis law partners, Mia H. Lahti and Stephen T. O’Neill.

The absorbed firm focuses on estate planning and elder law, including estate taxes, wills, trusts, advanced health care directives, probate and estate administration.

In the press release, chair of Fletcher Tilton’s trust and estate department Frederick Misilo, Jr. called Steven O’Neill a “prominent Rhode Island estate planning attorney for over 40 years.”

In a statement, Michael Lahti said the merger and Fletcher Tilton’s infrastructure as a full-service law firm will bring a wider range of legal services to his current clients.

As part of the move, a Cape Cod office of Lahti, Lahti & O’Neill has been moved to Fletcher Tilton’s Centerville office, but offices in Providence and New Bedford will stay operational.
