The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts has appointed its first-ever general manager.

Glen Grusmark will oversee day-to-day operations at the 2,300-seat theater, The Hanover announced on Thursday.

Hanover CEO Troy Siebels called the new general manager position a natural next step with the theater's fast growth in the past decade. The facility says it draws nearly 200,000 patrons each year.

Grusmark, who lives in Hartford, spent 25 years at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, Conn., most recently as production manager. Grusmark oversaw a staff of more than 40 people, all technical productions and a $3-million budget. During his tenure there, eight Goodspeed musicals went to Broadway, according to The Hanover.

Grusmark has a bachelor's degree in technical production from the North Carolina School of the Arts.
