Owner of vacant Milford plaza seeks public's help

Fafard Real Estate, which owns the Quarry Square Shopping Center in Milford, is asking the public for input on possible new anchors to fill 135,000 square feet of retail space.

The Milford-based company released a survey earlier this week asking shoppers their favorite grocery store, dine-in restaurant and what Milford is missing for retail shops.

The survey asks residents what they want to see for a new plaza anchor and if the town needs more residential space.

Stop & Shop, Home Goods and TJ Maxx all left the plaza for the Milford Crossing plaza just one mile away on Route 109, leaving a massive void in the large plaza.

Those three stores occupied about half of the plaza, which also includes a Gold's Gym, H&R Block, TD Bank, restaurants and other small retail shops and doctors offices.
