Planet Fitness joins a growing roster of tenants at the Apex Center of New England on Route 20 in Marlborough.

Planet Fitness has opened at Marlborough's Apex Center of New England, moving across the street from its old location and doubling its size in the process.

Planet Fitness is occupying more than 22,000 square feet in the new shopping center's entertainment complex, which also includes MindTrek, a high-tech gaming area opened last month. The 80,000-square-foot building's main tenant, Apex Entertainment, has opened a bowling alley, arcade, laser tag and sports simulators, with bumper cars, go-karts and a restaurant, Pit Shop Tavern, slated to open later this month.

A range of tenants in the remainder of the $160-million center on Route 20 opened late last year, including a Hyatt Place and Fairfield Inn & Suites, and several restaurants, such as Friendly's, 110 Grill, Evviva Cucina, Hot Table and Chick-fil-A.

The new Planet Fitness includes more than 100 pieces of cardio equipment, more than 35 65-inch plasma TVs, private tanning booths and beds. The New Hampshire-based fitness center chain now has more than 1,400 locations.
