Gardner-based Mount Wachusett Community College ranked No. 7 in the country among two-year schools in the 2018 Military Times Best Colleges rankings. Veteran Stanley Choruzek graduated from MWCC in May.

Diana Lados, Milton Prince Higgins II distinguished associate professor of mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the founder and director of WPI's Integrative Materials Design Center, was elected a fellow of ASM International. The organization is the world's largest association of materials-centric engineers and scientists. Lados has been a full-time faculty member at WPI since 2006.

Westborough Economic Development Committee held an annual celebratory dinner at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston-Westborough; Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito was keynote speaker. The following businesses were honored with awards: Signature Healthcare, Best Expansion Project; Curry Printing, Driver for Business Growth; E.L. Harvey & Sons, Public-Private Partnership; United Site Services, Leader in Development; BJ's Wholesale Club, Employee Attraction; Sapporo Korean BBQ & Sushi, Westborough Foodie; AAFCPAs, Sustainable Business; EMSEAL Joint Systems Ltd., Innovation; WDA Design Group, Excellence in Community Design; Atlantic Management Corp., Company to Watch; and Westborough Cork & Grain, Westborough New Small Business. Westborough's 300th anniversary committee, garden club and downtown beautification committee were also honored.

Trivium Technology of Sterling selected Panasonic System Communications Company as its go-to-market phone system and has been approved as a Panasonic Authorized Reseller. Frank Leonard is the company's president and CEO.
