A Medfield brewery with beer geared towards athletes to help quench thirst will open a pop-up taproom near the Boston Marathon route in Ashland next month.

Zelus Beer Co.'s pop-up taproom and beer garden will open at The Corner Spot from April 13 to April 26. The brewery is planning extended hours for the marathon on April 16.

The brewery, founded by marathon runners and athletes, specializes in creating hydration-friendly beers with a lower alcohol content, according to its website.

The Corner Spot, a town-owned piece of land at the corner of Pleasant, Cherry and Main Streets designated for pop-up businesses, is about a half mile from the marathon route on Route 135 between miles three and four of the 26.2-mile race.

A food truck plans to accompany Zelus during its time in Ashland, the company said.
