Ameresco acquires D.C.-based engineering firm

Framingham-based renewable and efficient energy firm Ameresco has acquired a Washington, D.C. engineering and consulting firm.

JVP Engineering’s 13 employees will join Ameresco, and the company will be fully integrated into Ameresco’s Federal Solutions business based in the capital, Ameresco announced Monday.

JVP for more than 25 years has worked with federal and local governments, health facilities, educational buildings and other companies on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In a statement, Executive Vice President for Ameresco’s D.C.-based operation Nicole Bulgarino said Ameresco is excited to welcome JVP and its customers.

“Adding JVP’s team to the Ameresco family further supports our growth strategy to provide design-build services to our federal and commercial customers,” she said.

J. Vicente Pedraza, president and founder of JVP, will join Ameresco as a principal engineer, and Vincent J. Pedraza will join as a senior director of design build business development.
