T.J. Maxx -- the retail store owned by Framingham-based TJX Cos. -- is again enlisting the help of powerful females to push The Maxx You Project, which seeks to encourage women to embrace their individuality via digital and real life communities.

New to the project is actress Debra Messing, best known for her role as Grace Adler in the TV show Will & Grace. She kicked off the project Tuesday by encouraging women to visit the project’s website to sign up for summer workshops in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York City.

The project will include Facebook conversations with Messing participating.

"I'm really lucky to have so many women in my life who live as their true, authentic selves," Messing said in a press release. "From pursuing my career to starting a family, I've looked to those inspiring women as part of my own community. They didn't get to where they are alone, and neither have I. I want to pass it on."

TJX ranks as the most inclusive Central Massachusetts public company for women in leadership, with 29 percent of board and executive positions held by women, which is tied with Framingham office supplier Staples and ahead of the 13-percent average for public companies in the region, according to WBJ research.
