MassMEP partnership to help defense contractors avoid cyber leaks

John Killam, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

The Worcester-based Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership is partnering with Burlington cybersecurity firm CyberSaint to help state companies contracted by the U.S. Department of Defense comply with federal cyber requirements.

Any company contracted by the department with knowledge of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) must meet the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement and comply to department standards or risk losing their government contracts. That includes any defense suppliers and manufacturers.

Via the new partnership, MassMEP and CyberSaint are offering those manufacturers and suppliers rapid fulfillment of those requirements using the CyberSaint’s Cyberstrong platform, which was designed to help companies become complaint with those kind of government cyber regulations.

Regardless of technological skill, the platform guides users through the assessment and recommends steps to become complaint at the lowest cost for the highest impact on the company’s compliance standing.

MassMEP and CyberSaint will host an information session on the program in the coming weeks at the UMass Lowell Innovation Hub.
