TUV Rheinland’s Littleton lab is one of the first in the U.S. to be certified to test Wi-Fi protocols, the company announced Tuesday.

The certification from Texas-based Wi-Fi Alliance comes as the global Internet of Thing market is expected to grow from $157 billion in 2016 to $457 billion by 2020. The certification enables TUV Rheinland to test customers' internet-connected machinery.

The German company’s North American subsidiary, TUV Rheinland North America in Littleton will now begin offering the service.

The Wi-Fi certification service for Wi-Fi Certified Easy Connect, based on the Device Provisioning Protocol and Wi-Fi Certified WPA3, will be extremely useful for manufacturers to keep operations running smoothly as technology advances.

Now, the company offers a one-stop-shop for nearly all major Wi-Fi testing.

“With this accreditation in the U.S., we are one of the first test labs in the US that can offer comprehensive Wi-Fi testing and certification, enabling our customers to rely on a single partner to meet all of their certification needs, saving them time and money, and helping them to get to market faster,” said Sarbjit Shelopal, global director of wireless and Internet of Things testing as the company.
