The CEO of MetroWest Medical Center abruptly resigned with no announcement from the hospital or Dallas parent company Tenet HealthCare.

Jeffrey Liebman, who held the title for about a year, resigned from the post on Aug. 10 to seek other opportunities outside of the Dallas-based organization, according to Tenet spokesperson Shelly Weiss.

As the company looks for his replacement, Chief Nursing Officer Andrew Harding will serve as interim CEO.

Liebman's resignation comes less than a month after Jeffrey Welch, the former CEO of the company's Massachusetts hospitals -- including Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester and MetroWest Medical Center -- was promoted in August to take a post overseeing the company's Miami-area hospitals.

In July, the company said Liebman would be staying on the job to oversee MetroWest's campuses in Framingham and Natick.
