Hudson ice cream shop New City Microcreamery is expanding to Cambridge.

The shop, founded by the owners and partners of Rail Trail Flatbread Co. In Hudson, announced Wednesday the new shop in Central Square. An opening date has not yet been announced.

The company last month began posting job opportunities for the new store.

The move comes just months after the shop in April polled its Facebook followers where it should look for a new location.

New City Microcreamery opened in Hudson in 2015 directly across the street from Rail Trail Flatbread Co. Shortly after the shop began serving ice cream, a speakeasy cocktail bar -- via a hidden door that isn't so hidden anymore -- opened.

Partners Karim El-Gamal, Michael Kasseris, and Jason Kleinerman are only disclosing the existence of the new ice cream shop.
