The owner of several Mexican-style restaurants in Central Massachsuetts has purchased the British Beer Co. restaurant in Worcester for $500,000.

Nachos Dining Inc., an entity registered to David Brambila of Sudbury, is purchasing the assets of the British Beer Co. on Shrewsbury Street for $200,000 in cash and a $300,000 mortgage from Bay State Savings Bank, according to documents with the city's License Commission.

The restaurant will be called Mexicali Grill and it is slated to be the 7th such location, joining other restaurants in Holden, Spencer, Ware, Webster, Natick and South Windsor, Conn.

According to state business filings, Brambila is the registered president, director or secretary with several restaurant businesses, including Alcapulcos, which operates in 10 locations including Sudbury, Milford and Franklin.

Gary Simon, owner of the BBC chain, told MassLive.com in August he is in talks with a potential buyer for the sale of the business.

Neither Simon or Brambila could immediately be reached for comment Monday.
