A self-storage facility totaling 180,000 square feet is being proposed for Route 20 in Worcester in a project expected to cost $13 million to $14 million.

The project, called 210 Self Storage Worcester, would be built at 210 Southwest Cutoff, between Junior's Auto Sales and USA Marine.

The proposal will go before the Worcester Planning Board Wednesday for site plan approval.

Eddie Santon, the owner of the project, said he hopes to start construction of the buildings in March and finish construction by the following March, in 2020.

The facility, with two three-story buildings, will include climate-controlled storage units, with upper-floor units accessible by elevator.

"It'll be the only one in the area that's purpose-built for storage," Santon said.

Santon owns Millbury Self Storage and Santon Plumbing & Heating in Millbury.
