Rectrix Aviation, a charter jet service operating out of Worcester Regional Airport, is set to be acquired by a Denver aviation firm.

Ross Aviation is currently awaiting government approval to acquire the company, which has operations in Worcester, Bedford, Westfield, Hyannis and Florida.

Hugh Drummond, a Rectrix spokesperson, confirmed the deal, but offered little information.

“The company has said publicly they are waiting for government approval and doing it for growth,” Drummond said.

The Federal Trade Commission lists Ross Aviation Investment, LLC as the acquiring party, and Rectrix Chairman Thomas Russell as the acquired party.

Nine Rectrix-affiliated business entities are listed as the acquired entities on the FTC’s website.

Due to a nearly month-long government shutdown, the FTC is closed, the website noted.

Rectrix offers summer flights from Worcester to Hyannis and has been operating out of the airport since 2015 when the company built a $5-million, 20,000-square-foot hangar for its fleet.

Ross Aviation operates out of Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska; Fresno, Long Beach and Thermal, Calif.; Scottsdale, Ariz.; and White Plains, New York.
