Pamela Boisvert is retiring as the CEO of the Worcester-based Massachusetts Education and Career Opportunities Inc.

She will be replaced as of Feb. 1 by Mark Bilotta, who has served as MassEdCo's board president. Bilotta is the former CEO of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium.

MassEdCo, based in the Denholm Building in downtown Worcester, targets low-income, first-generation college-bound students for college readiness programs.

It has a statewide network of service sites providing education and career advising to more than 14,000 individuals each year. The organization works with partner groups and schools in Boston, Lowell, Lynn, Pittsfield and the New Bedford and Springfield areas, along with the Worcester area.

Boisvert worked for the organization for nearly four decades.

"We expect this transition to be seamless, as our critical work supporting educational equity continues across the state," Boisvert said in a farewell note on the organization's website.

Locally, Boisvert has served as co-chair of the United Way of Central Massachusetts Campaign and its Women's Initiative Leadership Council, among other agency roles.
