The Worcester grow operation of marijuana retailer Temescal Wellness can soon begin cultivation and manufacturing at its Southwest Cutoff location.

The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission on Wednesday authorized the company to begin those operations in the 18,000-square-foot building in three days, making the earliest it could begin on Sunday.

The company already has retail a location licensed and open for adult-use sales in Pittsfield. Another store in Hudson is still in need of local approvals before it can open.

CEO Ted Rebholz said in an interview last month the company hopes to double its headcount in the state to about 150 as it gears up for the competitive recreational market.

The Worcester facility has been up and running for the medical market since June, when it began with 67 different strains.

As of last month, there were about two dozen full-time employees at the facility.

Temescal Wellness is also planning a retail dispensary in Framingham.

The company has operations in nine different locations on the East Coast, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maryland.
