MACA Industries LLC wants to build a 15,000-square-foot cultivation facility at 2 Condon Way in Hopedale.

A Milford lawyer is hoping to win approval to build a marijuana cultivation facility on vacant land in Hopedale.

MACA Industries, LLC will hold a community outreach meeting Thursday at Hopedale Junior-Senior High School on its plans at 2 Condon Way.

The proposed facility on the 1.6-acre site is on the edge of an industrial park and directly next to an ice skating rink.

MACA Industries is registered to Milford attorney Michael Kaplan. He did not immediately return a request for comment, but gave an overview of the company's plans at a Board of Selectmen meeting in December.

The firm includes principals Kaplan and another Milford attorney, Amanda Cox. The group wants to build a 15,000-square-foot warehouse-type cultivation facility. No product manufacturing will be done at the site, Kaplan said.

Instead, the marijuana produced at the site will be sold to licensed cannabis retailers. No products will be sold at the Hopedale site, Kaplan said.

The company is now seeking a host community agreement in order to apply for state licenses from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
