Natick Mall Apple store reopening Saturday

Photo/Flick/Hakan Dahlstrom Apple closed its Natick Mall store last May in order to undertake a renovation and expansion. The store will reopen Saturday.

A renovated and expanded Apple store will reopen Saturday in the Natick Mall after a nine-month closure.

The store, which closed last May, will reopen on the mall's first floor near Met Bar & Grill at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The reopened Apple will bring back a major retail name at a time when the mall has had a number of notable openings and closings.

American Girl will close its two-story location between Lord & Taylor and Macy's on March 20. American Girl said the lease in Natick and another to be closed in Minnesota expires this quarter and the closures are being done to improve the overall health of the business. American Girl joins a recently closed Sears, Brookstone and, soon to join them, a Gymboree.

Last year, the mall opened a new Wegmans grocery store and a Roots closing store. A Dave & Buster's is slated to move into the second floor of the Sears space.

Mall operator Brookfield Properties lists more than a dozen available storefronts for lease among the mall's 228 retail spaces.
