Real estate manager buys Framingham offices for $3.3M

Renovations are planned for a five-story office building at 30 Speen St. in Framingham under new owners Calare Properties.

Hudson real estate manager Calare Properties has bought a five-story Framingham office building for nearly $3.3 million.

Calare, which announced the purchase this week, bought the 40,500-square-foot building at 30 Speen St. from the American Cancer Society, according to the Registry of Deeds. The American Cancer Society now has its regional offices at 3 Speen St.

The building fronts the Massachusetts Turnpike and has easy access from Exit 13. The building sits in a stretch including offices for retailer TJX Cos. and energy firm Ameresco and retail centers Shoppers World and the Natick Mall.

Renovations of the building are planned this year, Calare said, including facade updates, exterior lighting, and lobby and interior work.

Calare is a major commercial and industry property owner in Central Massachusetts. Its holdings include 25 Tucker Drive, a 588,000-square-foot building in Leominster; 112 Barnum Road, a 392,000 square-foot building in Devens, and 134,404 square feet of space in adjacent buildings at 261 Cedar Hill St. and 753 Forest St. in Marlborough.
