Harpoon Brewery in Boston is partnering once again with Worcester drink manufacturer Polar Beverages, this time for a line of hard seltzers.

Speaking to craft beer publication Brewbound last week, Harpoon founder and CEO Dan Kenary said a new line of hard seltzer drinks will launch in April.

The four flavors will include Ruby Red Grapefruit, Pineapple Pomelo, Raspberry Lime and Black Cherry. Those products will be shipped to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets.

The two companies first collaborated last year when Harpoon’s UFO Beer line released seltzer-flavored beer UFO Blueberry Lemonade.

“We had an opportunity to work with the leading seltzer brand in our market,” Kenary told Brewbound. “We are using their flavors in these seltzers, and they will be more highly carbonated – something that Polar is known for.”

The beverages will be made with 100-percent cane sugar at 5 percent ABV. The base liquid will be produced at Harpoon’s Boston facility and then shipped to Worcester, where Polar will carbonate and flavor the liquid.

“We have the Polar team fired up,” Kenary said. “They have incredible relationships with chains, and we think we can become a player in our market with a hard seltzer this summer.”
