Boston engineering firm Howard Stein Hudson has opened a downtown Worcester office in the Guaranty Building.

The 370 Main St. office is the firm’s third after Boston and Chelmsford. The office will be managed by Steven Tyler, the former Department of Public Works director for the Town of Spencer.

According to the company’s website, the firm has done work for a variety of state transportation agencies as well as private companies, including MGM’s Springfield casino and a litany of Boston developments.

Central Massachusetts projects include an elementary school in Milford and the Tatnuck Square safety improvements in Worcester.

In a statement, CEO Thomas Stokes said the firm wants to tap into the economic momentum in Worcester.

“The state, local, and business leadership has made this city and Central Mass. the place to live, work, and play, and we want to be a part of it,” he said. “As we continue to strengthen our existing relationships and develop new ones in the region, we believe our new location will be central to ensuring we continue to provide excellent customer service and assist our clients in fulfilling their vision that will continue to enable this region to thrive.”
