Marlborough medical device manufacturer Oxford Immunotec has grabbed the chief financial officer from GE Healthcare in U.S. and Canada to replace its retiring financial chief.

Matthew McLaughlin will join the Marlborough and U.K.-based company on April 8. Richard Altieri, Oxford's CFO since 2012, is retiring at the end of April.

McLaughlin has been the CFO of GE Healthcare since December 2016 where he was responsible for driving top-line growth and margin expansion across the $19-billion business.

McLaughlin is credited with playing a key role in improving the company's supply chain and install teams to increase customer experience and improve capital performance. He’s served in similar roles throughout GE, including at GE Aviation, GE Avionics and on the company’s corporate audit staff. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University in Boston.

GE announced the sale of its Marlborough-based healthcare life sciences business last month for $21 billion. The company has not detailed its plans for facilities there and in Westborough.
