Wayfair's first retail store will open in the Natick Mall.

Online home goods retailer Wayfair will open its first brick-and-mortar store in the Natick Mall later this year.

In a Tuesday announcement, the Boston-based company said the new store, it's first full-service retail location, will open in the early fall.

It's the first brick-and-mortar store, but it did operate a pop-up shop in the same mall during the 2018 holiday season. Another pop-up shop was opened in New Jersey.

The company did not detail where in the mall the store would be.

In a statement, CEO, co-founder and co-chairman Niraj Shah said the new store will offer customers a new way to shop with Wayfair.

"We look forward to inviting our customers further into the world of Wayfair, welcoming them to step inside our newest shopping experience guided by the knowledgeable support and expertise of our in-store design team," Shah said.

The company is also planning to open four-pop-up shops later this summer, but those locations are not disclosed.

The move comes as other online retailers like Amazon move into the physical retail space, including a pop-up shop in the same mall.
