Washington Square hotel developers seek property near rotary

The developers behind the 120-room extended stay Homeward Suites Hotel by Hilton in Washington Square in Worcester could develop more of the area around the rotary if a land deal is reached.

First Bristol Corp., based in Fall River, is seeking to acquire 0, 20 and 36 Washington Square from the Worcester Redevelopment Authority.

City records show the WRA owns those properties, which total about an acre of contiguous land across the street from the hotel, which opened in 2017.

The WRA will be asked Friday morning to execute a terms of conveyance agreement with the company for those properties.

First Bristol Corp. could not be reached for comment Thursday.

According to the company’s portfolio, First Bristol specializes in hospitality, retail, commercial and residential developments.
