WCAC names Marybeth Campbell executive director

The Board of Directors of Worcester Community Action Council, Inc. on Thursday announced Marybeth Campbell as its new executive director, replacing retiring Executive Director Jill Dagilis.
Campbell will start June 10.
Campbell is currently the executive director of Skillworks in Boston, a public/private partnership to improve workforce development in Massachusetts by helping low-income residents move to family-sustaining jobs and helping employers find and retain skilled employees.
Campbell earned a bachelor's degree from Providence College and attended Suffolk University Law School. She has 19 years of experience in public policy, education and project management in clean energy, education, economic and workforce development. From 2012-2014, Campbell served as the commonwealth's first cross-secretariat director of education and workforce development.
Previously serving as the state’s first workforce development director at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, Campbell established programs to develop training and workforce capacity supporting the commonwealth's growing clean energy industry. She was later public education manager for Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust.

I am looking forward to working with the WCAC board, staff, and leaders across the city and our region to ensure the programs and partnerships we have across education, workforce, energy, and families continue and deepen for everyone we serve. I can't wait to start.”
Campbell succeeds Dagilis, who is retiring after 13 years. Dagilis is well known for her heavy involvement in community groups and was named to WBJ's Power 50 in 2018 and is an Outstanding Women in Business alumnae.
The WCAC search was supported by Koya Leadership Partners, a national executive search firm specializing in searches exclusively for mission-driven clients.
