Why do I have to register?
We ask everyone to register prior to commenting in order to prevent spam.
What kind of comments are you looking for?
The goal of the comments section on our web site is to further the dialogue on a given issue. We want to hear from our readers. However, we will not tolerate personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, profanity, commercial promotion, impersonations, incoherence and SHOUTING. Also comments that are promotional in nature will not be posted.
Do you edit comments?
No. Comments are either approved or they're not.
What if I want to make a change to comment once it’s been posted?
You cannot edit a comment once it’s been approved for posting.
When and where will my comment be displayed?
Your comment will be displayed once it has been approved by the moderator. We make every attempt to get comments approved in a timely fashion. If approved, your comment will be displayed at the bottom of the article. We reserve the right to display comments in a variety of ways, including within the text of articles or in advertisements.
Should I use my real name when making a comment?
We recommend that you use your real name or initials as your “user name,” which will be displayed alongside your comment. However, this is not required.
What about comments critical of the web site?
We want to hear what you think. You are welcome to post criticism of the WBJ. However, if the comments become abusive and disrupt the dialogue, your comments may be rejected.
Should I post new information about a breaking news story?
Yes. Our staff continuously monitors the reader comments. However, you can also send a private e-mail to anyone on staff. You can find their contact information here.
What if I see an error in a blog post or article? What is the best way to suggest a correction?
We suggest that you contact the editor directly about corrections. You can e-mail WBJ Editor Christina Davis at cdavis@wbjournal.com with any suggested corrections. As soon as we verify that a correction is needed, we will correct the online article.
What if I have questions about this FAQ?
