Sepracor Wins Leadership Award

06/27/08

The 495/MetroWest Corridor Partnership has given an award to Sepracor Inc. of Marlborough for its contributions to the region.

The Ambassador Richard J. Egan Private Sector Leadership Award is a three-year-old annual award. In previous years, the partnership gave it to EMC Corp. and Genzyme Corp.

Sepracor, a pharmaceutical company, has been in MetroWest since 1985. It has its headquarters and laboratories in Marlborough, and about 600 of its 2,300 employees work in Massachusetts. In 2007, it had revenues of $1.2 billion and a net income of $58.3 million.

In a statement, partnership executive director Paul Matthews said the group gave Sepracor the award for its rapid growth, commitment to the region and focus on cutting-edge technology.
