Career highlights:

I’m responsible for managing and informing the public and staff about promotions and products we offer — from loans and deposit accounts to investments and business services.

My position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment — every day at Workers’ is different, I can count on that. I also believe strongly in the credit union philosophy of being member-owned.

Community involvement:

Ultimately, the best part of volunteering is the feeling you’ve made a difference in someone else’s life. You live in your community; why not invest your time in it? Also, I’ve always felt strongly about donating blood, I think it is one of those few selfless acts left. You aren’t paid for it and not too many people enjoy the process. But it saves people’s lives. I donate to UMass Memorial Hospital knowing it directly helps those in my community.

Biggest professional success:

Working as the employee campaign manager for the United Way 2007-08 campaign here at Workers’. It was a challenge—half of our staff is here at the main office and rest at 13 other branches. We created new promotions to encourage giving. As a result we increased employee participation and giving by more than 25 percent.

Dream job:

A TV color commentator for the Boston Red Sox. A knowledgeable female voice would be refreshing. I could talk for 3+ hours easily!

Businessperson you admire most:

My Mom, Jeanne Mallet. Recently retired, she was the manager/treasurer of a small credit union for 20 years.

She earned her college degree as my parents divorced, when I was 10. I’d visit her work and members loved her. She gave me and my sisters a great sense of financial responsibility that we all live today.

If you weren’t doing the job you’re doing now, what would you do?

A speech or math teacher.

Favorite movie:

“A League of Their Own” or “A Few Good Men.”

If you were stuck on a desert island what book would you want to have with you?

I love to read but I’d rather bring a journal, write, and later on re-experience what I wrote.
