Marlborough Firm Pays $80K In Piracy Settlement

09/02/08

Marlborough-based Communication Technology Services LLC has paid the Business Software Alliance $80,000 to settle claims that the company was using bootleg copies of Microsoft and Symantec software.

According to the BSA, Communication Technology Services will also delete all unlicensed copies of software installed on its computers and acquire any licenses necessary to become compliant with software license law.

CTS is a telecommunications infrastructure services company.

The BSA said it was alerted to the pirated software being used by CTS by an anonymous report on its web site www.nopiracy.com.
