BSX Catheter Wins FDA Approval

11/10/08

Natick's Boston Scientific Corp. says it has received FDA approval for a new catheter designed to help patients with hard-to-treat hardening arteries.

The company said the Apex Catheter improves "pushability" and flexibility to let doctors treat the most challenging atherosclerotic lesions.

The catheter is part of a class of instruments used in angioplasty and stenting procedures to open blocked arteries.
