State Gives $1M For Small Biz Growth

12/30/08

The state Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship has given $1 million in grants to 25 community organizations that support small business growth.

Grantees included two Central Massachusetts groups, the Martin Luther King Center for Business Development in Worcester and the Twin Cities Community Development Corp. Cambridge-based InnerCity Entrepreneurs also received a grant for its work in Worcester and Lowell.

The grants are part of the Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program which was established in 2005 as part of an effort to support entrepreneurial businesses.

The grants are aimed at organizations that help businesses with 20 or fewer employees, especially those that help companies develop business plans, get funding and use technology.
