Valeritas To Expand In Shrewsbury

New Jersey-based medical technology company Valeritas is expanding at its facility at 800 Boston Tpke. in Shrewsbury.

Valeritas already occupies nearly 21,000 square feet of space in the 50,000-square-foot building. The expansion will total 2,000 square feet and will house a laboratory and clean room, according to Integrated Builders, the Braintree-based construction firm awarded the expansion contract.

"Even with the economy, we know we're going to need additional space," said Tara Charvat, a Valeritas spokesman.

The existing facility includes laboratory space, two large clean rooms, research and development space, offices and a cafeteria.

The Shrewsbury property is owned by Vinco Properties.

Valeritas makes drug delivery devices used in the treatment of diabetes. The Shewsbury and Parsippany, N.J. facilities are the company's only two locations.
