When the Worcester Business Journal set out to recognize up-and-coming leaders back in 2000, it wasn't clear how long the award program would last. Some thought it would a be one- or two-year event at a maximum. Well, here we are celebrating the 10th class of the WBJ’s 40 Under Forty program, which is a testament to the vitality of the Central Massachusetts business community and the talent that helps drive the local economy.
In honor of this very special anniversary we’ve put together a very special issue. You will meet the 2009 inductees to the 40 Under Forty club, but you’ll also have a chance to look back at the previous nine classes. Here at the WBJ we’ve marveled at the talent that we’ve had the privilege to profile over the years. Scroll down to meet our honorees for the last 10 years.
Special thanks to Michael Covino (40 Under Forty Class of 2008) and his staff at Niche Hospitality. They generously opened up one of their restaurants — Bocado on Winter Street in Worcester — to host a morning networking event for this year’s winners, where we took their portraits. In between photos, the honorees had the chance to mingle and enjoy the restaurant’s fantastic ambience, as you can tell from the photos above.
Thanks also to Tammy Woodard, who took the portraits of this year’s winners, as well as our panel of judges.
And finally, congratulations to the WBJ’s 40 Under Forty Class of 2009 on this special 10th anniversary year. Here’s to another 10 years of leadership in Central Massachusetts!
