Stow Company Hit With DEP Fine

The Massachusetts Department of Envrionmental Protection has cited J. Melone & Sons Inc. of Stow with a $16,000 fine.

The company was penalized for allegedly violating waste site cleanup regulations at its property at 77 White Pond Rd. in Stow.

J. Melone had previously entered into a consent order with the DEP in 2005. But, the DEP says, the company failed to meet certain deadlines and terms of that order over the last four years.

According to the company's web site, J. Melone is a concrete and contracting business founded in 1959.
