New CEO At RXi

RXi Pharmaceuticals Corp. of Worcester has hired biopharmaceutical industry veteran Noah D. Beerman to replace company co-founder Tod Woolf as president and CEO.

The company said the appointment is part of a planned succession in leadership as it moves from the research stage to product development and therapeutic collaborations and partnerships.

RXi said Beerman has more than 25 years of experience in biopharmaceuticals. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and chief business officer for Indevus Pharmaceuticals Inc., which was acquired by Endo Pharmaceuticals in March.

Woolf will continue as a member of RXi's Scientific Advisory Board.
