Local CDCs Benefit From TD Bank Donations

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank N.A., recently provided two local community development corporations with grants.

Twin Cities Community Development Corp. of Fitchburg and Worcester East Side Community Development Corp. received $25,000 and $50,000, respectively.

The grants are part of the bank's "Housing for Everyone" grant competition, through which the bank provided nonprofits with funding ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Twin Cities and Worcester East Side were two of 56 winners, selected from almost 500 applicants.

Through the program, the TD Charitable Foundation donated $2 million in 2009 and has invested about $5.3 million in affordable housing to date.
